A month of updates since Dev Log #3, driven straight by your DMs. The headline: your server now has a shareable public leaderboard, XP is finally yours to hand out and boost, and when something on our side hiccups, the bot tells you the truth instead of pretending nothing's wrong. Let's go. 🌞
🏆 Public leaderboards — brag rights, unlocked
Flip one switch and your server gets a public, read-only leaderboard on the web — a clean, shareable link that shows your richest players. Perfect for pinning in a channel or dropping in your server's about page.
It's strictly opt-in: nothing is public until an admin turns it on in /admin. Servers that haven't enabled it simply don't exist to the outside world — no scraping, no leaks. When you switch it on, SunBot hands you the exact link right there. Your economy, your call.
🎖️ XP is yours to give
The most-requested thing in my DMs: real control over XP. It's here.
- Give XP — open
/admin→ Users, pick a player, tap 🎖️ XP, and add (or set) any amount. Reward event winners, fix a mistake, seed a new member — instantly. - XP Events — launch a double- or triple-XP weekend for the whole server with one tap in the Ranks panel. Pick 2× or 3×, pick how long (24/48/72h), done. Nothing kicks activity like a limited-time boost. ⚡
🎉 Chat XP counts again
Some servers noticed their members weren't earning XP from chatting. That was on us — a permission toggle slipped off after an earlier update. It's fixed: every message earns XP again (within the usual anti-spam cooldown), and the level-up climb is back on track. If your ranks felt frozen, they're moving again now.
🛟 When something breaks, you'll know
Sports betting leans on outside data providers, and sometimes they go down. Before, that could look like "no matches." Now SunBot is honest about it:
- A clear "temporarily unavailable, try again shortly" message instead of a confusing empty screen.
- A one-tap 🐞 Report to developer button under it — press it and the report lands in my DMs with the context I need. I read every one.
Under the hood we also added timeouts so a slow provider can never freeze the bot's background jobs. Boring, but it's the kind of boring that keeps things up. 🛠️
🏎️ F1 betting, always in season
Formula 1 markets now follow the current season automatically — no more stale grids at year rollover. (Sports Betting stays a Premium feature; everything your members actually play with is still free.)
🐛 Fixes & polish
- The
/funddonation error now explains itself — it needs cash on hand (not bank), and tells you where to earn it. - DMs to the bot now reach me with more context, so I can help you faster.
- Assorted stability and reliability tidy-ups across the board.
💌 Something broke? DM the bot
Same deal as always: every DM you send SunBot reaches me directly, and I reply personally. Nearly everything in this post came from a player DM — the leaderboards, the XP tools, the honest error messages. So if you hit a bug, want a feature, or just have an idea, DM the bot.
